The two men moved half a dozen 55-gallon drums of flammable liquid to the grounds of the Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale International Airport, where they dumped it. Ponie was sentenced to 6 months' home confinement, fined $2,000, and placed on 3 years' probation. Martin was handed 3 years' probation and a fine of $2,000. The case was jointly investigated by OIG, the Environmental Protection Agency, the FBI, and the Florida Marine Patrol. |
