Item:Criminal Charges Filed Against DFW Airport Workers

Summary:The latest investigation of security fraud at the nation’s airports resulted in the arrests so far of 60 employees at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport who used bogus social security numbers to win employment giving them access to secure and restricted areas of the airport. A total of 99 defendants have been charged by criminal complaints. Those arrested included baggage handlers, ramp workers, cargo agents, and food service and custodial workers. The investigation is being conducted by DOT OIG, the FBI, INS, Social Security Administration OIG, U.S. Marshals Service, the Texas Rangers, and the airport’s Department of Public Safety.
