SIR-C Data Transition from NASA to USGS

The SIR-C data archive and systems has transitioned from NASA to the USGS, in keeping with existing agreements between the two agencies. On October 2, 2000, the SIR-C dataset and systems became the responsibility of the USGS at the EROS Data Center.

SIR-C System Status

Currently the SIR-C on demand precision system is in operable status. Due to the complexity and frequency of past hardware failures, the future stability of the system is questionable. SIR-C on demand precision products may be searched and ordered at Precision Processing Request page.

SIR-C Precision data that has been previously processed is also available. These products can be searched and ordered through NASA's EOS Data Gateway (EDG) or through the SIR-C Precision Data Inventory page.

The price for previously processed SIR-C products is $50 per 8mm tape.
