Urban Electric Vehicles

Urban electric vehicles (UEVs) are regular passenger vehicles with top speeds of about 60 mph and a per-charge range of about 50 miles. Unique benefits of UEVs include easier parking and driving characteristics. UEVs usually have two doors and a hatchback, and are designed to carry two or four passengers. Look to "What is Urban Electric Vehicle?" for more information describing UEVs.

The Advanced Vehicle Testing Activity (AVTA) in conjunction with Electric Transportation Application (ETA) performed UEVAmerica baseline testing (PDF 838 KB) and fleet testing (PDF 80 KB) on the Th!nk City vehicle. Th!nk City

The UEVAmerica Technical Specifications (PDF 347 KB) and the UEVAmerica Test Procedures used to define the minimum requirements for a UEV are also available.

The AVTA and Ford Motor Company have partnered to use 350 TH!NK city EVs in a National Demonstration Program in California, New York, Georgia, and Michigan. The First TH!NK city Demo Report (PDF 376 KB) and the Second TH!NK city Demo Report (PDF 1.5 MB) are now available.

The Th!nk City/Clean Commute Report (PDF 517 KB) contains the Clean Commute Program feasibility of using electric transportation in urban applications. The program partners are the New York Power Authority (NYPA) and Ford. Click on the below links for pictures of the vehicles at the following train stations:
