Photos From the Wireless Broadband Access Network Coordination (BANC) Event,
Hotel Monaco,
San Francisco, CA
7/12/04
On Monday, July 12, FCC Chairman Michael Powell attended an event with the Broadband Access Network Coordination (BANC). BANC is a group of fixed-wireless operators that are working together to minimize interference in and maximize the reliability of spectrum in the license-free bands. The FCC’s flexible, deregulatory approach to wireless technologies has enabled the broadband wireless industry to experience tremendous growth and success. The BANC group is an innovative example of how wireless broadband operators in the unlicensed bands are working together to ensure spectrum is being used efficiently within this flexible framework.
