A study to estimate the grizzly bear population size in the Northern Continental Divide Ecosystem (information sheet, pdf format).

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

A non-invasive sampling method was used in this study which spanned 8100 km2 (2 million acres) of land under multiple ownership within the Northern Continental Divide Ecosystem in Northwest Montana. Objectives included: population estimation, development of a monitoring protocol, create a genetic library, and optimize genetic techniques.
