Information Disclosure to Foreign Governments

The Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21, Part 20.89, addresses Communications with foreign government officials.

An amendment to that regulation appears here: Disclosure of Information to Foreign Regulators - Final Rule: Federal Register, March 7, 2000 (Volume 65, Number 45). Public Information; Communications with State and Foreign Government Officials. The rule states that FDA may disclose confidential commercial information to international organizations only with the consent of the person who submitted the information to FDA.

Disclosure of Official Information

Section 133 describes the procedures that should be followed when an FDA official receives a request for non-public (e.g., predecisional or confidential commercial) documents from a foreign government
