Brig. Gen. Robertus C.N. Remkes is Commander, Air Force Recruiting Service, Headquarters Air Education and Training Command, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas. He is responsible for accessing qualified men and women to meet the personnel procurement requirements of today and tomorrow's highly technological Air Force.
General Remkes received his commission upon graduation from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1977, and he completed pilot training at Reese Air Force Base, Texas, in December 1978. He served as Chief of Safety for the 57th Fighter Wing at Nellis AFB, Nev., and has been both the Deputy Director and acting Director of Plans and Programs at Headquarters Air Combat Command, Langley AFB, Va. His previous commands include a tactical training squadron, two operations support groups, the Officer Training School at Lackland AFB, Texas, and three wings.
General Remkes is a command pilot with more than 2,700 hours of flight time. He has flown the T-37, T-38, T-1, C-130, F-4, F-16 and the F-15. General Remkes is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Fighter Weapons School.
