2001 Open-File Report Series:

USGS Open-File Report 01-388

The Tampa Bay Interactive Mapping System is an Internet based Geographic Information System designed to provide users with online mapping capability. View the Tampa Bay IMS Help Pages to get details about IMS interface and functionality implemented for this project.

Netscape Communicator™ version 4.51 or higher and Microsoft Internet Explorer™ versions 4 or higher Web browsers are supported. However, the Tampa Bay Estuary IMS has been optimized for Netscape 4.51 and 4.75, and Internet Explorer 5.0 and 5.5 browsers on Intel-based personal computers.

At the beginning and during each IMS session, large graphic and text files have to be downloaded. Please be patient! Online mapping is data intensive and require frequent communications between client and server computers. Your connection speed and the network traffic both affect system performance.

*Accessibility*

The IMS is a java script intensive application. If you do not have a java script capable browser, the links below will allow access to much of the information contained in the IMS.

Please note that IMS interface and data are subject to periodic upgrades.

The Tampa Bay IMS is built and maintained by Sumani Chimmula at the U.S. Geological Survey/National Wetlands Research Center, Lafayette, LA.
