Latency

The period of time between exposure or injury occurring and the clinical appearance of a disease.

Localized Effects

Localized effects are changes in the cells at the site (cell death, cell multiplication) and changes between the cells at the site (scarring, fluid accumulation, build up of other cells, as in inflammatory response). The result would be things like redness, swelling, tumor, scarring, soreness, etc.
