Software DownloadsBefore downloading the software review the System Requirements and License Agreements EFS-ABX (4.6 MB) Version 1.1 EFS-ABX is the Patent Application specification authoring component of the EFS software suite. EFS-ABX is used to author electronic (XML and PDF) versions of specifications. EFS-ABX allows the user to create Patent Specifications in an easy to use Microsoft Word template. The USPTO is implementing a fee increase effective October 1, 2004. New users should download ePAVE 5.1e which includes the new fees codes on October 1, 2004. Current EFS users can simply download the DTD file and copy it to the ePAVE /DEF /DTD_XSL folder on or after 1 October 2004 . See the OG Notice dated August 31, 2004, for more information.
ePAVE 5.1e (8.0 MB download; decompresses to 18 MB on local installation) (31Jul2004) EXPORT RESTRICTIONS APPLY ePAVE allows the applicant or practitioner to collect and submit Patent application information to the USPTO. Installing ePAVE 5.1e Prior to installing ePAVE 5.1e, previous versions of ePAVE software should be removed. Follow the steps listed below to preserve the address book, remove the outdated versions of ePAVE and preserve and address book entries that may already exist. New users that have never installed ePAVE should skip Step 1, 2, and 4. Users that do not wish to save the address book or have never used the address book should skip Steps 1 and 4. Step 1 – Save the address book (this step needs to be complete only if the address book has been previously used)
The Address book is now saved in a safe location for reuse. Step 2 – Uninstall previous versions of ePAVE
The software has been removed; now the new version of ePAVE can be installed from the download or CD. Step 3a – Install ePAVE 5.1e from the CD
Installation will be completeInstallation of ePAVE is complete. Now go to Step 4 to insert the address book. If this is the first time ePAVE is being installed or no address book was saved please go to Step 5. Step 3b – Install ePAVE 5.1e from the Download
