Wind Turbine EnergyPower out of thin airits no magic trick Properly placed wind turbines can generate electric power anywhere the wind blows steady and strong.
Wind turbines use the momentum of moving air to quietly turn large blades that are attached to the shaft of an efficient electric generator. TVA has constructed a wind power generating site on Buffalo Mountain near Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Initially wind power will add about two megawatts of capacity to the TVA power system, but plans are for its share of total green power generation to increase over time. |
