Sioux Falls Advisory Committee MeetingsThe United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has a mandate to analyze the state of global and regional environmental trends, provide policy advice, promote development of early warning information on environmental threats, and to catalyze, and promote international cooperation and action, based on the best scientific and technical capabilities available. In order to assist it to implement its mandate UNEP's Division of Early Warning and Assessment has set up regional coordinating units in different parts of the world including one in North America.
