The Puerto Rico Water Use Science and Information Program began in 1980 to provide data to government agencies in Puerto Rico, water resources managers and planners, and the general public. The Caribbean District compiles the data from many sites to produce water-use information aggregated up to "municipio". Every five year, data at the state level are compiled into a national water-use data system and are published in a national circular
