NAEP Geography Subject Area

In 2001, NAEP administered a geography assessment to approximately 25,000 students at grades 4, 8, and 12 in the nation. The national sample included 365 schools at grade 4, 369 schools at grade 8 and 374 schools at grade 12.
Performance in 2001 is compared to 1994, the last time NAEP assessed geography.
