Best Practices Guidebook
The Best Practices Guidebook is a vehicle to promote the sharing
of practices within the highway community that reduce construction and
maintenance impacts on mobility and safety. The practices may be approaches,
procedures, or technologies that are "state-of-the-practice"
in work zone mobility and safety management. These practices were collected
from those observed during a work zone scanning tour of 26 states, and
will be added to as other practices are identified and documented by
practitioners across the nation. The Guidebook was prepared by Federal
Highway Administration (FHWA) in partnership with American Association
of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), April 2000.

Training Module
To make practitioners aware of the Guidebook and assist them in getting the greatest benefit from it, we have developed a Training Module. The training module is designed for use in a session at a workshop, conference, or association meeting, and by Local Technical Assistance Programs (LTAPs).
