The Science Information System (SIS) is
an information system established by the Chief Biologist of BRD to provide
rapid access to project level summaries. SIS is designed to meet the needs
of BRD and will be shared with partners, clients, public, and special interest
groups. The purpose of the SIS is to provide a comprehensive scientific
information data base comprising summary descriptions of the objective(s),
location, funding sources, project description, approach, anticipated application
of results, products, duration, progress and results of BRD scientific
efforts.
Mission of the BRD
As a Division of the United States Geological
Survey, USGS, the Biological Resources Division (BRD) works with others
to provide the scientific understanding and technologies needed to support
the sound management and conservation of our Nation's biological resources.
