Coherent Lidar
Experiment
A Cancelled New Millennium Program mission formerly being developed at the
NASA Marshall Space Flight Center to test the measurement of winds using
lidar (laser radar) from the Space Shuttle.
"Direct tropospheric wind measurements would provide a greater impact
on numerical weather prediction models than any other new space-based observation."
