Scientific and Medical Research

ONDCP's Federal partner the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) leads the Nation in bringing the power of science to bear on drug abuse and addiction. NIDA-funded studies on the biological, behavioral, and social bases of drug abuse and addiction have brought tremendous increases in the understanding of drug abuse and addiction and what can be done about them.
