Grid Point Forecast A grid point forecast is a forecast for a specific location (point) within a grid map.
The grid map scale we are currently using is a 5km square area. When the forecast is generated, all individual weather element forecasts
(i.e. temp, weather, wind) within
the grid point location are taken into consideration. and a textural representation of those elements is constructed.
For an in-depth explanation of the National Digital Forecast Database (NDFD), which the Grid Point Forecast
is a part of, you can start here...

Zone Forecast A zone forecast is a forecast for an entire zone.
A zone is normally a county, although there are several counties within our County Warning Area (CWA)
that are divided into two seperate zones for forecast purposes.
When the forecast is generated for the zone, an average of all the individual
weather elements is used to construct a textural representation.
