The National Science Foundation makes grants and awards for social, behavioral, and economic research that builds fundamental knowledge of human behavior, interaction, and social and economic systems, organizations and institutions. Most of this research is supported through the Division of Social and Economic Sciences(SES) and Division of Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences (BCS) within the Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences (SBE). SBE also supports the Foundation's international activities through its Office of International Science and Engineering (INT) , and, through its Division of Science Resources Statistics (SRS), provides tools for tracking the human and institutional resources vital to building the nation's science and engineering infrastructure.

Exciting new findings, and new analysis of science resources are featured regularly on the SBE Science Nuggets pages.
