Visions

This past year, EEOC sponsored two contests to engage young people in our 35th anniversary celebration, and to encourage an early commitment to such fundamental ideals as fairness, equal opportunity, and respect for diversity. For elementary school students, we sponsored an artwork contest. For secondary school students, we sponsored an essay contest.

The work of the students is delightful and thought-provoking, making it difficult to choose winners among the hundreds of wonderful entries. Thanks to all of the students who shared their vision, and to the schools and teachers who supported this project. When young people embrace these beliefs early in life, the conflict and hostility that are often at the heart of workplace discrimination are diverted.
