Occupation
The Census Bureau used the 2000 Standard Occupational Classification (SOC), which was issued in September 1999, to classify responses in Census 2000. The 2000 SOC was also adapted for use in the Current Population Survey and the American Community Survey beginning in 2003. For more information, contact the Bureau of Labor Statistics SOC site.
