IERI Program

The goal of the Interagency Education Research Initiative, supported jointly by the National Science Foundation, the Institute of Education Sciences, and the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, is to support scientific research that investigates the effectiveness of educational interventions in reading, mathematics, and the sciences as they are implemented in varied school settings with diverse student populations (see: Interagency Education Research Initiative (IERI) Dept of Education). To be eligible for NSF funding a proposal must meet both NSF criteria regarding "intellectual merit and broad impact". Additionally, each criterion needs to be specifically addressed in the one page proposal abstract/summary. (NSF Grant Proposal Guide).
