NSA.GOV is provided as a public service by the National Security Agency/Central Security Service (NSA/CSS).

Unless expressly stated otherwise to comply with license requirements or copyrights owned by others, information presented on NSA.gov is considered public information and may be distributed or copied. In accordance with Section 15 of the NSA Act of 1959, as amended, (50 USC 402 note), no one may use without permission from NSA/CSS the words 'National Security Agency', the initials, or seal of the National Security Agency in connection with any commercial activity or in a manner intended to convey the impression that such use is approved, endorsed, or authorized by the National Security Agency.

For site management, information is collected for analytical and statistical purposes. This government computer system uses software to create summary statistics, which are used for such purposes as assessing what information is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas.

For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, this government computer system employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage.

Except for authorized law enforcement, security, or counterintelligence investigations, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits. Raw data logs are used for no other purposes and are scheduled for regular distribution in accordance with the National Archives and Records Administration Administrative and Management Records Disposition Schedule, Section 370-06ac. All data collection activities are in strict accordance with DoD Directive 5240.1.

Unauthorized attempts to upload information or change information on this service are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986, the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act, and other applicable law.

If you choose to provide us with personal information, such as filling out a Contact Us form and submitting it to us through the web site, we use that information to respond to your message and to help us get you the information you requested. We only share the information you give us with another government agency if your inquiry relates to that agency, or as otherwise required by law. We never create individual profiles or give it to any private organizations. The NSA/CSS never collects information for commercial marketing.

If you choose to participate in any mail list on this site, we archive the information you provide through your participation. Messages sent to the list are saved and made available on NSA web sites and/or by e-mail at the discretion of NSA. Sending to the list implies your consent to the possible posting of your message to the list. Posting of these messages does not imply NSA endorses any particular product or approves the content of the message.

The Child Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requires NSA/CSS to obtain parental consent before it collects personally identifiable data from children under 13. Children under 13 must get approval from a parent or guardian before submitting questions or comments via this computer system.

Authority for collecting information is contained in 5 U.S.C. 552, 18 U.S.C. § 1030, 50 U.S.C. § 402 note, Executive Orders 9397, 10450, 12333, 13292, and DoD Directive 5240.1. NSA's Blanket Routine Uses found at 58 Fed. Reg. 10,531 (1993) as well as the specific uses found in GNSA03, GNSA10, and GNSA15 apply to this information. The information collected via the NSA.gov web site is used to: 1) process employment applications from individuals who choose to submit their resumes through the NSA on-line resume process; 2) collect statistical data as to what information is of interest to the public; 3) provide information in response to requests for information; 4) to assist the NSA in fulfillment of its foreign intelligence and information assurance mission.

Authority for requesting your Social Security Number (SSN) is Executive Order 9397. The requested information will be used to determine your skills and experience, as well as your security eligibility for employment with the National Security Agency. To be considered for employment or assignment with the Agency, your disclosure of requested information, including your SSN, is mandatory. Failure to provide the requested information may result in processing delays, delay the Agency in making an employment decision, or any decision at all, regarding your security eligibility or suitability for employment or assignment with the Agency.
