NWFSC Research Cruises

The Pacific Ocean is home to many valuable living marine resources, including salmon, some 80 commercially fished groundfish stocks, and killer whales. These resources are an important part of the region; they affect commerce, livelihoods, and our health and quality of life. Research cruises are essential to our understanding and sound management of these resources. Research cruises enable scientists to collect critical coast-wide data on fisheries, marine mammals, and marine ecosystems.
