    Q: What is NWFSC?

    A: NWFSC is an acronym for Northwest Fisheries Science Center. NWFSC is one of five regional Science Centers for NOAA Fisheries. It does research and provides the scientific information and advice on which management policy is based.

    Q: What is NOAA Fisheries?

    A: NOAA Fisheries is a branch of the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration. It has its headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, and has a Regional Office and a Science Center in each of five regions - Northwest, Northeast, Southwest (including Hawaii and U.S. South Pacific Territories), Southeast (including the U.S. Caribbean), and Alaska. The Regional Offices provide management and policy leadership. The Science Centers (such as NWFSC) do research and provide the scientific advice on which policy is based.

    Q: Where is the NWFSC?

    A: The NWFSC is located at 2725 Montlake Blvd. E., Seattle, WA 98112. It is right next to the Seattle Yacht Club, just south of the Montlake Bridge, on the west side of Montlake Blvd. East. Click here for directions to the Center and a map.
