Program Summary:
Program Direction

Vision Statement:
Provide a nutritious food supply, promote nutritional health and quality of life, reduce morbidity and mortality associated with chronic diseases influenced by dietary intake, and develop sound dietary recommendations which can be used to establish more effective nutrition assistance programs.

Mission Statement:
The mission of the Human Nutrition Program is to conduct basic and applied research to identify and understand how nutrients and other bioactive food components affect health. The ultimate goal of this food-based agricultural research is to identify foods and diets, coupled with genetics and physical activity, that sustain and promote health throughout the life cycle.
