President Bush Announced His Intention
President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate
one individual to serve in his administration.
The President intends to nominate John Paul Woodley, Jr. to be
Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works. He is currently the
Assistant Under Secretary of Defense for the Environment, having
previously served as the Secretary of Natural Resources of Virginia
since from 1998 to 2001. From 1994 to 1998, he was the Deputy Attorney
General for Government Operations of Virginia. He was on Active Duty
in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps from 1979 to 1985, and
has served in the US Army Reserve since 1985. Mr. Woodley earned JD
and BA degrees from Washington and Lee University.
