These Crime & Justice Electronic Data Abstract spreadsheets are:

  • aggregated data from a wide variety of published sources
  • intended for analytic use
  • include crime, justice and sociodemographic variables
  • often contain data over time and by jurisdiction

Most of these files are in .wk1 format which can be easily read by most spreadsheet and statistical programs, and many word processors. A few of the holdings are a collection of files which are archived into one .zip file to facilitate transfer from the Internet. Homicide trends in the United States and Drugs and Crime Facts - Click on the charts to view the data.

Data Online - Interactive tables on criminal offenses from the Uniform Crime Reports for all 50 states and about 3,900 local agencies, homicide trends and characteristics for all 50 states and localities with a population of more than 250,000, and law enforcement management and administrative statistics for state and local agencies with more than 100 sworn officers.
