Office of the General Counsel provides legal advice and guidance to the Office of Justice Programs and its component Bureaus authorized by the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968; the Victims of Crime Act of 1984; the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974; and the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994. The General Counsel is Rafael A. Madan and the Deputy General Counsels are Gregory C. Brady and John L. Pensinger.
