Mission

Mission Summary

The History and Museums Division of Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps exists to collect, record, preserve, exhibit, and disseminate the cumulative operational and institutional experience of the Marine Corps. Its first priority is to provide a significant ingredient to be used in command decision making, as well as to orient, educate, and train Marines.

MCO P5750.1G - Manual for the Marine Corps Historical Program provides the description, scope and authority for the History and Museums Division. That Order is provided here in PDF format for viewing or download.

Please note that the official source for authentic and current digital publications issued by Headquarters Marine Corps staff agencies, major commands, and other DOD and Federal agencies that issue publications used by the Marine Corps is "Publications" on the Marine Corps homepage (MarineLINK) at http://www.usmc.mil.
