If you visit our site to read or download
information, we collect and store only the
following information about you: the name of the
domain from which you access the Internet; the date
and time you access our site; and the Internet
address of the web site from which you linked
directly to our site. We will not obtain personally
identifying information about you when you visit
our site, unless you voluntarily choose to provide
such information to us by E-mail, by completing a

on-line form. The Department of the Treasury does
not give, sell or transfer personal information to
third parties, unless required by law, such as the
Freedom of Information Act.
For site management, information is collected
for statistical purposes. Computer software
programs are used to create summary statistics
about visits to Treasury web sites which are used
for such purposes as assessing what information is
of most and least interest, determining technical
design specifications, and identifying system
performance or problem areas. No information
subject to the Privacy Act, such as name and
address, is collected or used for this analysis.
Raw data logs are used for no other purposes and
are scheduled for regular destruction in accordance
with National Archives and Records Administration
Guidance.
Except for authorized law enforcement
investigations, no other attempts are made to
identify individual users or their usage
habits.
The Treasury web sites do not, as a rule, enable
'cookies'. One or more Treasury bureaus may use
cookies. For additional information specific to a
Treasury bureau regarding their use and other
privacy information, please visit that bureau's web
site.
Generally, individuals are strongly discouraged
from sending any personal information, like a
social security number, to the Treasury Web master
or any Treasury E-mail address. It may be necessary
on certain bureau web sites to collect personally
identifiable information (name, E-mail address,
social security number, or other unique
identifier), but only if specifically and knowingly
provided by you. Personally identifying information
you provide will be used only for such other
purposes as are described at the point of
collection by the bureau asking for the
information.
You are entering an Official United States
Government System, which may be used only for
authorized purposes. The Government may monitor and
audit usage of this system, and all persons are
hereby notified that use of this system constitutes
consent to such monitoring and auditing.
Unauthorized attempts to upload information
and/or change information on these web sites are
strictly prohibited and are subject to prosecution
under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986 and
18 U.S.C. §§1001 and 1030.
