Accessing and Analyzing the NHSDA Online

The NHSDA Report:  Accessing and Analyzing the NHSDA Online

Over 75 studies, including the National Household Survey on Drug Abuse from 1979 to 1998, are publicly available from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Data Archive (SAMHDA).  The SAMHDA online data analysis system is provided by the Office of Applied Studies within the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

This short report provides an overview of the SAMHDA  as well as an example to illustrate the type of questions that can analyzed and the procedure to conduct the online analysis.

Persons wanting to do their own data analysis might find  OAS's data systems   helpful as well as background and other information on SAMHSA's data analysis system ( SAMHDA).
