Larry King, news anchor, television personality and founder of The Larry King Cardiac Foundation, an organization providing funding for life-saving cardiac procedures for individuals who, without foundation support otherwise would be unable to receive life saving treatment;
Medtronic/Art Collins, Chairman and CEO, for their commitment to the employment of persons with disabilities; a medical technology company, providing lifelong therapeutic, diagnostic, and monitoring systems and solutions for people with chronic disease
Rachel Simon, professor and author of the groundbreaking memoir and upcoming broadcast Hallmark Hall of Fame movie, Riding The Bus With My Sister: A True Life Journey, an uplifting chronicle of Simon's sister Beth, a developmentally disabled woman, and their journey using public transportation, emphasizing the need for coordinated transportation for all individuals with disabilities;
Don Dreyer, a national visionary and pioneer in addressing the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) including public and private policy and program attention to the employment, housing and health needs of persons with disabilities;
American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR)/Renee Pietrangelo, Ph.D., for their commitment and consistent attention to helping persons with disabilities as a nonprofit trade association representing private providers who provide supports and services to people with disabilities
The Art and Drama Therapy Institute (ADTI)/Dr. M. Muggy Do Dickinson, is an innovative state-of-the-art medically supervised, therapeutic day-treatment center for persons with mental retardation and developmental disabilities. ADTI's innovative approach to the care and treatment of adults with mental retardation utilizes the use of art, music, movement, and drama therapies. Indicators that these innovative treatments work is evidenced through the ADTI Inspirational Choir and Moroccan Ensemble, who have professionally recorded the Grammy nominated single "Let Us Fly."
