A scenic drive in the Big Horn Mountains.

Welcome!
The Buffalo Field Office manages 780,291 acres of public lands and 1,488,336 acres of mineral estate within Campbell, Johnson, and Sheridan counties in north-central Wyoming.  These three counties are part of the Northern Great Plains and are rich in old west history.

This area contains vast deposits of oil, gas and coal, in addition to providing a variety of resources such as wildlife habitat and rangelands for livestock grazing. The public lands and adjacent Bighorn National Forest provide many opportunities for recreational activities.

It's all here!  You can mountain bike, horseback ride, or hunt big game.  You can fish, explore wilderness areas, or venture into the lands of the Hole in the Wall gang where the legendary Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid once roamed.  So, when you come to Wyoming visit and enjoy lands managed by the Buffalo Field Office and enjoy America's public lands!
