The 2002 FDA Science Forum was held on Feb. 20 and 21, 2002, in Washington, D.C. It focused on the importance of FDA's many scientific and regulatory disciplines to the agency's decision-making process. On the first day, speakers and participants examined how research and review influence FDA's public health policies. The second day highlighted public health surveillance and how it relates to current scientific issues, from both domestic and global perspectives.
