Social Security will publish a list of vendors that support magnetic media and/or electronic filing of Annual Wage Reports (Forms W-2/W-3) for employers.

The vendor list will contain:

(1) Payroll service providers that produce files on the prescribed types of magnetic media or via electronic filing, and

(2) Vendors that offer software packages for employers and third party practitioners to produce magnetic tape, cartridge, diskette, or electronic files for transmission to Social Security.

Employers will be able to request the vendor list via telephone or by letter to Social Security. The list may also be downloaded from the Social Security World Wide Web site at www.socialsecurity.gov. Vendor names will not be provided over the telephone.

The vendor list will be provided at no charge as a courtesy to employers. Inclusion on the list in no way implies approval or endorsement.

You are invited to include your company on the vendor list. Send a written request to Social Security with the following information:

a. Company name
b. Address (include city, state, and ZIP Code)
c. Telephone number (include area code)
d. Contact person
e. Type(s) of service provided (e.g., service bureau and/or software)
f. Type(s) of media offered (e.g., magnetic tape or tape cartridge, 3½-inch diskettes, or electronic filing)
g. Signature by principal of company

Please note: All requests must have a signature by a principal of the company.

PLEASE NOTE:
Social Security will periodically update the electronic version of the vendor list. Changes to company listings should be sent to the above address in the format described. Changes will be applied to the electronic list upon request.

The hardcopy version of the vendor list will be updated annually. Changes made to the electronic version will automatically appear in the annual hardcopy version.

To be included in the annual updated vendor list, the company information must be received by Social Security at the above address by July 1 of each year.
