CDC instituted the Injury Center on June 25, 1992 to apply its scientific
expertise to the public health problem of injury prevention. The Injury
Center celebrated a decade of progress in injury prevention with four
regional meetings across the country during the month of June.
Also throughout June, CDC webcast three
Lunch and Learn sessions on
various injury prevention topics. On June 25, CDC's Injury Center
held a webcast injury symposium
featuring guest speaker, actress and humanitarian Lindsay Wagner.
