Federal Supply Service Acquisition Management Center

The Acquisition Management Center is composed of the following divisions:

  • Acquisition Management Division, which is responsible for developing, issuing, and implementing acquisition policy for the GSA Schedules, Governmentwide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs), and GSA Global Supply Programs. The division also provides advice, assistance, and regulatory interpretation to FSS contracting activities, federal agencies, and industry on acquisition matters.

    The Acquisition Management Division analyzes and provides comments on a wide variety of acquisition-related material, including proposed changes to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the General Services Administration Acquisition Manual (GSAM), proposed legislation, Federal Register notices, and Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP) letters.

    In addition to developing and recommending new clauses to the FAR and GSAM staffs, the division maintains the electronic FSS Clause Manual and develops new FSS clauses for inclusion in that database. The Acquisition Management Division also provides contract pricing support and serves as the FSS focal point for environmental issues.
  • Acquisition Program Support Division, which is responsible for developing and providing both online and classroom training to support all FSS acquisition programs. The division also develops and implements policies and procedures for FSS acquisition workforce education, training, and career development.

    The Acquisition Program Support Division conducts studies and collects data on agency requirements and the commercial marketplace, in order to stay abreast of agency practices, as well as governmentwide and industry trends. The division then works with FSS business lines to identify new business opportunities and make recommendations for improvements to FSS acquisition programs. The division analyzes proposed legislation and makes recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of these programs.

    The Acquisition Program Support Division also maintains the Office of Acquisition Management website, to provide a centralized location for program-related information, and serves as the FSS focal point for socioeconomic programs.
