About GSA
Federal Supply Service Office Supplies and Administrative Services Overview

GSA's Office Supplies and Administrative Services, located in the Northeast and Caribbean Region in New York, NY, supports civilian and military agencies with products and services to meet their office needs. In addition to providing a wide range of office supplies, paper and packaging materials, this center also provides training, human resources, and EEO services. Under GSA's various Federal Supply Schedules, customers can order products and services against already established contracts, thereby achieving greater savings than the vendors' most favored customers. These contracts are procured and awarded by three procurement divisions, Administrative Services Acquisition Division, Office Products Acquisition Division and the Supply Procurement Division.

The Center has recently released its new Schedule 75.  The schedule combines products and services from four cancelled schedules, 75IIA, 75ID, 75X, and 85IA.  All items under the cancelled schedules can now be obtained from the new schedule.  Customers can purchase items that are available from full-service office supply firms as well as hard-to-find product available from specialty suppliers.

Some of the Federal Supply Schedules handled in this Center are as follows:

  • 75 -     Office Products/Services & New Products Technology
  • 69 -     Training Aids & Devices; Instructor Led Training, Course Development, Test Administration
  • 76 -     Publications Media
  • 81IB -  Shipping, Packaging and Packing Supplies and Services
  • 738X -  Human Resources and Equal Employment Opportunities Services
  • 00JWOD-NIB/NISH Products (00JWOD)

The Acquisition Marketing and Business Development Branch is responsible for marketing to all customers through trade shows, seminars, presentations, and publications, highlighting the various types of products and services already available and some that will soon be available. All requests for orders, ordering status, and discrepancies go through the Customer Service team for added assistance to the customer. The branch is also responsible for Business Development of new product lines and identifying avenues that allow vendors to find business opportunities in the Global Supply and Schedules programs.

The Inventory and Commodity Management Division is responsible for over 2700 items in the Global Supply Program.

The Inventory Management Branch handles bulk ordering for customers and stores material in the GSA's Wholesale Distributions Center, located, in Burlington NJ, and Sharpe, CA.  Contract awards are made which consolidates purchasing requirements, allowing larger discounts to be passed on to the end users.  If a product is less common, and doesn't quite fit into the Supply or Schedule Programs, it may be purchased under the Special Order Program.  A customer's request for a product would be submitted to a Contract Specialist, who would obtain competitive quotes and award a purchase order for delivery direct from the vendor to customer.

The Commodity Management Branch is responsible for providing specification for products, evaluating methods of supply, reviewing environmental issues, and ensuring that the GSA Global Supply Catalog accurately portrays the product being offered.
