National Institute on Drug Abuse

The National Institute on Drug Abuse has launched a major new 
initiative in response to the increasing popularity of substances 
collectively known as “club drugs.”  The purpose of this notice is to 
inform the research community that NIDA is interested in expanding its 
research portfolio on all aspects related to the use, abuse, short- and 
long-term effects of “club drugs.”  The term, “club drugs” refers to 
substances being used by young adults at all-night dance parties such 
as “raves” or “trances,” at dance clubs and bars (see 
http://www.clubdrugs.org for more information).

Applications can be in response to several NIDA program announcements,
