Description

New Eyes for the Needy was founded in 1932 to provide better vision for the poor throughout the world. This organization solicits metal frames in any condition, unbroken plastic framed glasses, sunglasses, hearing aids, cataract lenses, and precious metal scrap. Cash received from the sale of metal-framed glasses and precious metal scrap is used to purchase new prescription glasses for the needy in the United States. Reusable plastic-framed glasses are sent abroad for redistribution. A brochure describing the organization's program and providing suggestions for local organizations conducting campaigns to collect the requested materials is available.
