Description

The Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization is a nonprofit organization that provides information, support and education to women and men with breast cancer, their family and friends and anyone touched by or concerned about breast cancer. Founded in 1978 by two women with breast cancer, Y-ME services include two hotlines (English and Spanish), a matching service, a men's support network, educational meetings, professional and peer led support groups, referrals, early detection workshops for the general public, and a wig and prostheses bank. Pertinent literature is also mailed free of charge. The program answers general questions about breast cancer, treatment options, side-effects, and general coping mechanisms.
