The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute Health Information Network (NHLBI HIN) is NHLBI's digital link to health professionals. It offers quick, convenient access to trustworthy information applicable to everyday practice.

All health professionals, and those currently studying to be health professionals, with an interest in heart, lung, blood, and sleep disorders are encouraged to join.

The NHLBI Health Information Network provides members with information and educational opportunities related to NHLBI's key research findings, clinical advisories, programs, and services. These include the following:

• Health Action e-Bulletins: Emailed summaries of NHLBI research findings and their practical application to clinical care and individual health.
• HeartMemo and AsthmaMemo: Electronic newsletters featuring updates about NHLBI educational programs and materials, highlights of workshops and conferences, news about partners' activities, data for program planning, and other information.
• Online Continuing Education: High-quality professional education resources with the convenience of computer access. (Many include free continuing medical education and certified health education specialist credits.)
• Webcasts: Opportunities to participate in major scientific conferences without leaving the office.

The NHLBI Health Information Network is part of NHLBI's continuing support of the Government's Healthy People 2010 initiative, a blueprint for building a healthier Nation. Healthy People 2010 has two overarching goals--to increase the quality and years of American's healthy life and to end racial and ethnic disparities in the burden of disease.
