NIST/TRC Vapor Pressure Database
image for order form

The NIST/TRC Vapor Pressure package contains: a data file, several index files, help files and a user interface program. The software calculates vapor pressures using the Antoine equation or the extended Antoine equation and displays tables for approximately 6,000 pure compounds. Users can select the compound by name, partial name, formula or CAS Registry Number; the user also may specify the range of temperature or pressure and increments. The program identifies all compounds in the database with vapor pressures in a specified range at a specified temperature.

Compound information can be entered from batch files and the points can be calculated at a specified pressure for identified compounds. Data are available for vapor above both liquids and solids over a range determined by the availability of experimental data. Extrapolations beyond the range of experimental data are permitted. Literature sources of the Antoine constants and the uncertainties for the data, ranging from 0.1 percent to 5 percent, are given.

The base units are Kelvin and kilopascal. Alternate units for temperature include: Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Rankine. Alternate pressure units include: bar, pascals, mm Hg, psi, inches of Hg, and kg per cm2 . The database contains molecular formulas and up to six alternate names. All information displayed, including results of calculations, can be reviewed, saved to a file, or printed. The Vapor Pressure Database is updated on a regular basis. These updates contain the most recent TRC evaluation, newly published data, and additional features.

System Requirements: TRCVP runs under DOS and Windows. An IBM PC-compatible computer with DOS 2.0 or higher is required. The program must be installed on a hard disk and requires approximately 2.5 MB. The package comes with installation programs for either Windows or DOS
