Federal Procurement of Biobased Products & DOE's Buy Bio Initiative

Federal Biobased Products Preferred Procurement Program
To increase the exposure of commercially viable biobased products, USDA has initiated a Federal Biobased Products Preferred Procurement Program. This site provides information on the opportunities for producers of biobased products to participate in the Program. The Program also publishes a Biobased Products Catalog so that federal procurement officials can learn more about the range of products available.

The DOE's Buy-Bio team is keen to get a head start on purchasing biobased products by initiating an internal program at the DOE. Their efforts include training procurement personnel, government credit card holders, and personnel involved with affirmative procurement to plan for biobased product purchases. If you are a DOE employee and would like to purchase biobased products, please visit the Environmental Safety and Health's Environmentally Preferred Products Program page. Consumers can access more information from the Biobased Manufacturers Association on how they can purchase biobased products right now.
