Personnel Announcement
President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate
one individual to serve in his administration:
The President intends to nominate Robert Lerner of Maryland, to be
Commissioner of Education Statistics, Department of Education, for a
term expiring June 21, 2009. He is currently a Partner with Lerner and
Nagai Quantitative Consulting, a social science research firm. From
1996 until 1997, Mr. Lerner served as Faculty Associate for the
Department of Health Policy and Management at The Johns Hopkins
University School of Hygiene and Public Health. Prior to this position
he served as Senior Research Associate and Assistant Director for the
Center for the Study of Social and Political Change at Smith College.
Earlier in his career Mr. Lerner served as Instructor and Assistant
Professor for the Department of Public Administration at Syracuse
University. He earned his bachelor's degree from Oberlin College, and
his master's degree and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
