Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld will host an honor cordon to welcome Iraq's Prime Minister Ayad Allawi to the Pentagon at 8:45 a.m. EDT, Friday, September 24, 2004.

 

            The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon River Entrance. 

 

            Media who wish to cover this event must be at the Pentagon River Entrance no later than 8 a.m. for the arrival ceremony.  Media without a Pentagon building pass desiring to cover the arrival will be escorted from the Pentagon North Parking Entrance only at 7:30 a.m.  Media must have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification. 

 

            Rumsfeld and Allawi will conduct a brief media availability at 10 a.m. in Room 3E869.  Media equipment must be preset in the room by 9 a.m.  Media without a Pentagon building pass desiring to cover the availability will be escorted from the Pentagon North Parking Entrance only at 8:30 a.m.
