Charles Hess, director of the Iraq Project and Contracting Office (PCO) and Ambassador Bill Taylor, director of the Iraq Reconstruction Management Office (IRMO) will brief news media via tele-conference from Baghdad, Iraq on Thursday, Oct. 7, in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E579 at 10:30 a.m. EST on Iraq reconstruction progress.
The Project and Contracting Office (PCO) is responsible for implementing nearly $12.4 billion of the $18.44 billion in the Iraq Relief and Reconstruction Fund approved by Congress. The PCO reports to the U.S. Army/DoD on matters relating to program management and contracting, and to the Iraq Reconstruction Management Office (IRMO)/State Department on matters relating to priorities and requirements. Hess will discuss progress in delivering construction and non-construction projects and plans for the future. Taylor will discuss overarching strategy, reallocation of funds, and progress to date.
